Purpose

Screen for Active Straight Leg Raise findings.

Execution

  1. 1Lie supine with both legs straight and arms at sides
  2. 2Keep the non-test leg flat and toes up
  3. 3Raise the test leg with the knee straight as high as possible
  4. 4Stop before the pelvis tilts or the other leg lifts
  5. 5Compare left vs right range

  1. 1Observe from: lateral.
  2. 2Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. 3Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. 4Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. 5Compare left vs right when applicable.
