Modified Thomas Test
Modified version to differentiate specific restrictions.

Screen for Modified Thomas findings.
Execution
- 1Lie supine at the edge of a table
- 2Pull one knee to the chest to flatten the lumbar spine
- 3Allow the test leg to hang relaxed
- 4Observe thigh position and knee flexion angle
- 5Repeat on the other side
Key Observations
- Differentiate rectus femoris vs psoas
- Assess TFL (thigh abduction)
Protocol
- 1Observe from: lateral.
- 2Standardize start position and instructions.
- 3Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- 4Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- 5Compare left vs right when applicable.
