Execution
- 1Have the client elevate the arm in the scapular plane
- 2Manually assist scapular upward rotation and posterior tilt
- 3Repeat the arm elevation with assistance
- 4Note changes in pain or range
- 5Compare to the unassisted movement
Key Observations
- Pain improvement with assistance indicates a positive test
- Suggests a scapular component
Protocol
- 1Observe from: lateral.
- 2Standardize start position and instructions.
- 3Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- 4Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- 5Compare left vs right when applicable.
